The Early Childhood Behavioral Health Support Program seeks to meet the needs of Island County parents and caregivers and their Birth to Five-Year-Olds.
Services include:
- In home visitation for families with Birth to Five-Year-Old children, focused on promoting attachment and early nurturing relationships.
- Prenatal and postnatal visitation and support, especially for young isolated or at-risk parents or caregivers.
- One-on-one Parent Coaching to address individual concerns, increase parenting confidence, and encourage capacities for future parenting.
- Areas addressed may include any aspect of children's social-emotional development including challenging behaviors, developmental milestones, or daily routines.

Parent to Parent offers support, connections to resources, system navigation and opportunities such as events and training for families with children or adults with special needs, delays, disabilities and/or complex medical needs.

Mother Mentors
Trained volunteer mentors donate their time to help parents of infants with everything from simple tasks, such as preparing a meal or reading a story to a sibling, to more demanding needs like helping with the young children. In addition to providing parents with a break and stress relief, mentors learn to recognize the signs of problems in the home, including postpartum depression and child maltreatment, and also learn to refer parents to community resources. Mentors establish rapport, help parents gain a sense of belonging in the community, encourage self-care, and support parents in gaining new skills and learning about child development.
